I passed by a one handed juggler
With fear written on his face
I tried to chase a standing statue
But it ran all over the place
I lifted my cigarette to the sun
And tapped a rhythm with my shoe
When I noticed moonshine is just sunshine
With a little bit of blue.
I ask the nameless
Where in this world is man supposed to stand
Without a bent knee
Or a hanging head?
And he said:
Travel on this open road
Even if your broken backs and your broken souls
Say no.
I’m sitting at the bar
On my 5th shot with cupid
We’ve got broken arrows
And we’ve got broken hearts
I’m just looking for a sunset
Or a train going east
And I had had enough of heartache
But it hadn’t had
Enough of me.
When she walked through the door
Doves followed her in
And with her blood red lips
She blew a kiss to the wind
We both turned to look at her
Then we both turned away
Because we know
Life just goes on anyway.
But I went up to miss red lips
Out of lust and animosity
And asked: how does and angel
End up in a dump like this?
And she said: I
Was following a dream
And it took
Human form
And he just sat still
As I tried as I tried as I tried
To ignore
But his burning immortal hands
Pulled me in
And I can’t tell if he was following me
Or if I
Was following him
But with or without him
I keep ending up
In dumps like this.
When those wild winds broke loose
On that open road
You know they came right to me
And I was so bad back then
Even the devil was ashamed of me
And I was searching for this road
Too far and too wide
When the road I was searching for
I was buried inside
Oh but who could really laugh
at what the heart desires truly?
When you too might become
The beholder in the eye of beauty!
I passed by a one handed juggler
With fear written on his face
I tried to chase a standing statue
But it ran all over the place
I lifted my cigarette to the sun
And tapped a rhythm with my shoe
When I noticed moonshine is just sunshine
With a little bit of blue.
